Mighty No. 9 Delayed to Early 2016; Developers Want to Deliver it “In the Best Way Possible”

Coming off its highly successful Kickstarter campaign several years ago, Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 has plenty of fans waiting with high expectations, yet unfortunately it seems the wait will have to be for a little longer as the title is seeing a delay to early next year.

Developer Comcept sent an update to backers of the title through Kickstarter that Mighty No. 9 has been delayed from its original September release date to early 2016, with the team explaining:

“We are unable to confirm a final release date at this time, however we will be aiming for a release in Q1 2016. Once a solid release date is set, we will announce it immediately to our backers and fans.”

Though no final release date has been officially confirmed just yet, Comcept did explain that the title needed additional development time to correct bugs and other issues that would interfere with players’ enjoyment of the game, as the studio detailed:

“All of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state. However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.”

“We appreciate your support and patience regarding this matter, and look forward to delivering Mighty No. 9 to our backers and fans in the best state possible.”

Mighty No. 9 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, PC, Mac, and Linux – the title however has now been delayed to Q1 2016.
