Nintendo's Miiverse service began with the launch of the Wii U back in 2012 in an effort to merge the communities of both its new system and the 3DS across a social platform. The ensuing memes and jokes would soon become some of the most famous, and infamous, of the internet.

On November 8, Nintendo will be shutting down its Miiverse service, as it says because "among other reasons, many users are shifting to social networking services."

Although this may be disconcerting for many, all is not quite lost! Nintendo has set up a very special place for users to mourn and celebrate the the great endeavor. The Everybody's Message Community is where you are welcome to post your hand-drawn messages, memories, and thoughts about Miiverse until its closure. Nintendo also notes that certain posts might be used in a giant collage to be shared at a later date.

If you're just learning about the Miiverse discontinuation, do not fret just yet! You can still visit its website to register for a download of your favorite posts before they are lost to the void on November 7 at 10:00pm PST. By doing so, you will receive an email via Nintendo Account mail a few weeks following the Miiverse shutdown with a unique URL that will allow you to download your posts.

If you have any other questions or concerns about the Miiverse service discontinuation, be sure to visit Nintendo's FAQ page dedicated to answering just that.
