Hololive EN Gen 2, the Council

First off, a debut trailer for Hololive EN gen2, the Council, was revealed, introducing the five talents. Ceres Fauna, Tsukumo Sana, Hakos Baelz, Ouro Kronii, and Nanashi Mumei. They’re the administrators of the world who were teased with the Hololive Prelude and Hololive Omen videos. Official profiles for each VTuber were shared as well. Each of the five members of the council is themed after a concept. We’ll focus below on Hakos Baelz, the concept of Chaos, and her mama Mika PIkazo.

Hololive EN Gen 2, official profile for Hakos Baelz

A member of the Council and the very concept of Chaos, birthed by the world, itself.

The Gods appointed her Chairperson of the Council, but she mostly takes a hands-off approach as she has yet to accept the decision, much like her fellow members. That said, all of them have no intention of contending; instead to obey.

Her mouse-like appearance has deceived many a fool who fails to realize that mice are the harbingers of chaos. Also of note is her wild smile, which she often flashes in her frequent romps.

Chaos is confusion and disarray, it is fortune and tragedy, and it is freedom from all the logic and inherent nature of life.

She believes that rules are not the be-all and end-all, which is why she has come to break them all.

Watching the aftermath is her greatest joy, and so she remains a bystander to the destruction caused by mayhem.

Hakos Baelz and her inspirational Mama artist Mika Pikazo

Hakos Baelz (ハコス・ベールズ) seems to be the mood-maker of Hololive EN Gen 2, always looking to have fun. She typed her first tweet in reverse, “wassup”, and her bio reads “welcome to the fun zone” in reverse as well. She has rat ears. You can find Hakos Baelz’s YouTube here. Her first stream will happen on Sunday, August 22, just like all of Hololive EN Gen 2.

The Mama of Hakos Baelz is Mika Pikazo, a very young (27 years old) but incredibly talented artist. With her own unique style using highly vivid, vibrant colors and patterns. Born in Tokyo, Mika Pikazo was drawing for as long as she remembers, and always wanted to become a pro illustrator. However, just like any other youth, she reached a point in her late teens where she wasn’t so sure anymore of her calling.

This is when she ended up spending two years and a half in Brazil after graduating high school. Mika Pikazo was always fond of counter-culture, and would often deal with the pain of having unique tastes in Japan. However, in Brazil other people her age all appreciated each other’s differences, which strengthened her resolve to express herself through art and become a professional artist.

Some often believe her broad use of colors was directly inspired by Brazillian culture. However, Mika Pikazo explained it’s more like her time in Brazil made her look into herself to find her own creative ability.

Mika Pikazo speaks English, Portuguese, and Japanese. She’s one of my favorite character designers who went pro in the 2010s and I’ve always been following her work. She’s definitely someone you should keep an eye on.

Mika Pikazo and VTuber Kaguya Luna

In fact, Mika Pikazo also played a huge part in the initial VTuber boom. Mika Pikazo is the Mama of Kaguya Luna, a VTuber that debuted several months after Kizuna Ai made the concept of VTubers mainstream in late 2016.

Kaguya Luna was incredibly popular despite her irregular video releases. She did concise videos full of her unique humor, personality, and antics. But while she never officially went into hiatus nor graduated, she hasn’t posted anything since August 2020. It looks like her seiyuu is still streaming on her personal account though.

Keeping this in mind, it’s not an exaggeration to say Hololive, and VTubers in general, wouldn’t be as mainstream as now if not for Mika Pikazo illustrating Kaguya Luna.

  • HOLOLIVE ERROR – Reveal trailer, initial details on the horror project

Mika Pikazo is also the illustrator of several light novels. She’s also the character designer of Den-On-Bu, a music-themed media mix project by Bandai Namco that includes so far CDs, a manga, and a first live concert planned for October 2021.

Furthermore, Mika Pikazo was the character designer of the Moscow Combat Revue characters in Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation: Valery Kaminski, Layla Ruzhkova, and the Heroine character Klara Ruzhkova.

Last but not least, Mika Pikazo is the character designer of FGO servant Sei Shounagon. She did several in-game illustrations of popular Nasuverse characters too. A perfect transition for our next VTuber and Mama duo we’ll cover in another feature: Ouro Kronii and Arco Wada. Stay tuned on DualShockers for more Hololive and VTubers talk. Hakos Baelz debut stream (August 22 update)

The Hololive debut streams finally happened after a day of delay. The last on the line is Hakos Baelz, her debut stream is included right below. Be sure to check our intro for Wadarco too, the mama of Ouro Kronii.

Hakos Baelz, in my opinion, might be the big star of Hololive EN Gen 2, similar to Gawr Gura, and we might get a glimpse of that on her debut stream. They might have kept the best for last after all. See you guys on the Reddit Megathread.
