Minecraft Copper Ore

One of the most exciting features included in the Caves and Cliffs update is the brand new Copper Ore block, which has multiple uses. But, where do you find it?

Much like Iron and Coal Ore, Copper Ore can generate anywhere in the Overworld and comes in the form of veins - meaning you'll find more than one block at a time.

Copper Ore generates anywhere between layer 0 and 96, but is most common between layers 47 and 48.

In order to obtain Copper Ore, players must mine the ore with a Stone Pickaxe or higher. Once you collect the ore, it will drop 2-3 raw copper. The raw copper ores can then be placed into a furnace and smelted into Copper Ingots.

Take the ingots and fill a crafting table with them to create the new Block of Copper - a decorative block that oxidizes over time.
