Mojang and Microsoft continue to expand the Minecraft franchise by not only making a movie and porting the game to as many systems as possible but by crafting spin-offs like Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons as well. The small team working on the latter unveiled the dungeon crawler at E3, and it seems to be a game that fits both its genre and the Minecraft aesthetic well. Today, we learned that another developer will be helping with Minecraft Dungeons' development.

The team in question is Double Eleven, a British developer that has served as a support studio and has ported many games. Some notable titles they have worked on include LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Vita, the console versions of Goat Simulator, and Crackdown 3. Mojang is working with Double Eleven to ensure that Minecraft Dungeons will launch for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One alongside PC day and date in 2020. That being said, Double Eleven will also help with some content creation and support for the online multiplayer systems.

Mojang Executive Producer David Nisshagen seems happy to have the extra help. "We're thrilled to have found a partner that shares our passion for creating great games, and we’re looking forward to working closely with Double Eleven to bring Minecraft Dungeons to a wide range of platform. We’re excited to watch our passion project continue to grow, and Double Eleven’s expertise and dedication will help us create a high-quality experience for our community," he exclaimed.

Double Eleven CEO Lee Hutchinson thinks Minecraft Dungeons is a "milestone" that "highlights the next phase of the team’s expansion." Interestingly, he also promised that Double Eleven has "more exciting announcements still to come this year." Minecraft Dungeons releases for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2020.
