During Microsoft's Inside Xbox at X019, we finally saw Minecraft Dungeons again. The Minecraft spin-off was first announced in September 2018, though it ended up going pretty silent until E3 2020. During Microsoft's press conference, we got a full gameplay trailer and a Spring 2020 release window. We later learned that the game is running on Unreal Engine 4. Today, during Inside Xbox at X019, Mojang came on stage to confirm that Minecraft Dungeons will be releasing in April 2020. Check out the short trailer revealing the date below:

For those of you who don't know, Minecraft Dungeons is a Diablo-esque dungeon crawler made by a small internal team at Mojang. That being said, they are getting some help from Double Eleven. Microsoft’s Head of Minecraft Helen Chiang has made it clear that releasing spin-off like Minecraft is the route that they would like to go with the Minecraft franchise instead of making a direct sequel. It's certainly different than the game it is based on, but will hopefully introduce younger fans of Minecraft to a whole new genre.

During April 2020, Minecraft Dungeons will be available for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
