In the age high definition graphics, most people would look down on the pixelated joy that is Minecraft, but the tree-punching indie hit just keeps on going. With recent Xbox 360 and mobile versions expanding Minecraft's customer base, the game has now soared over it's six millionth sale. That's a lot of blocks broken and diamonds mined. With the five million mark being passed just earlier this year, Minecraft's sales seem to be picking up if anything, which is impressive for a game that many have been playing regularly since it was pre-beta.

To put that in perspective, Diablo III sold about that many copies in its first week, but Minecraft didn't have TV ads or a decade of expensive development to help with that. While Minecraft continues to be updated often, creator Markus "Notch" Persson is already moving onto his next title, who knows if he can strike gold a second time?
