Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition Gets May 14th Retail Release for Europe, Box Art Revealed

on April 16, 2014 7:19 AM

In its global conquest of all consoles and platforms available, Minecraft has showed little-to-no signs of slowing down, at least not anytime in the near future.

With Minecraft having been available for several months in a downloadable edition on PSN, Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will also be receiving a retail release on Blu-ray next month, with the European PlayStation Blog having officially announced that the disc version will drop on May 14th, 2014 in all PAL regions.

In addition to the release date, the PS Blog Europe also revealed the box art for the PlayStation 3 Edition, which provides a nice new piece of artwork differing from the previously-released Xbox 360 Edition.

Mojang’s Owen Hill also provided information in the post on the upcoming PS4 and PS Vita versions of Minecraft, and while no specific release dates were given, fans can at least rest easy knowing that they are coming soon:

“In other PlayStation-related news, 4J are working on bringing Minecraft toPlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Sorry for the delay but making Minecraft happen is serious business.”

Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will get a retail release on May 14th, 2014 in Europe: stay tuned for any information on a release coming to the West.
