Minecraft Player Perfectly Recreates Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night
YouTuber and Minecraft fanatic, ChrisDaCow, has amassed over 20,000 upvotes on Reddit after showcasing his latest build, Starry Night.
In Chris’ latest YouTube video, he expresses that his intent for the build was to get as close to a 3D replica of the original painting as he possibly could. Well, pat yourself on the back, Chris, you definitely succeeded. Of course, this wasn’t done in survival mode, tools such as world edit can be seen in the timelapse video. But that doesn’t make it any less impressive.
Not only did Chris recreate every single detail of the painting, from the mountains to each individual tree and more, he also included every single paint stroke. The process reportedly took Chris over a month to complete and even involved getting his friend to re-write the code of a pixel art generator so that Chris could see which blocks would translate best from the painting into the Minecraft build.
The Minecraft Builds subreddit was blown away by the Starry Night replica, with USS_Teddy_Rosevelt saying “Minecraft is art and this proves it, keep it up!”. Whilst Coco-Roxas said “This is incredible”, and many more expressed how the recreation was “stunning”, “amazing”, and “very moving to see brought to life”.
