With Sony stubbornly refusing to join the cross-play scene, Microsoft and Nintendo are certainly not wasting the chance to push the message.

With the release of the "Better Together" update to Minecraft, Microsoft released a new trailer that is all about gamers playing together on Xbox One and Switch.

It goes all the way to showing the Xbox One and Switch logos side by side at the end, with the message "create together, explore together, survive together, better together."

While Sony is enjoying a position of basically absolute leadership in the console market, the house of PlayStation has come under pointed criticism from many sides about its refusal to let its player mingle with those on other consoles. Despite that, there are no signs of this changing, at least for now.

You can check out the trailer below. Minecraft is currently available on everything short of toasters and solar-powered calculators (I bet it would be difficult to enable cross-play on those).
