Humble Bundle and Meowza Games announced today during the Nindies live stream that Mineko's Night Market will be arriving first on the Switch for its console release.

For those unfamiliar with Mineko's Night Market, it is a narrative-driven experience where you play as a young girl named Mineko. Taking place in Japan, Mineko is in pursuit of finding the legendary Sun Cat, named Abe. Players will be able to explore four different regions while completing a variety of quests, making friends, and creating new items to then sell at the Night Market. There's also a ton of cats in this game. Seriously, if you're a cat person, this one's for you.

Some of the other broad details of Mineko's Night Market are as follows:

  • 20+ hours of story-based gameplay that is open-ended for infinite replayability

  • Craft peculiar items with the resources you find around the world through a variety of work-bench mini-games

  • Befriend and barter with the 80+ townsfolk at the weekly Night Market to sell almost anything you make and find

  • Play and compete in a variety of Night Market games like cat racing, octopus pull, and sumo-suit wrestling

Mineko's Night Market currently doesn't have a release date but it is scheduled to arrive at some point in early 2019. It'll also be arriving on PC and Mac in addition to its newly announced Switch release. In the meantime, you can check out the charming new trailer that was released today at the bottom of the page.
