Torn Banner Studios, creators of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, announced today that its latest skill based multiplayer FPS Mirage: Arcane Warfare will be getting a free weekend on PC later this week. In addition to the free weekend announcement, the development studio also released a new trailer, which can be seen below.
The free weekend will begin on Thursday, June 8th at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, and run through Sunday, June 11th at 1:00PM Pacific Time. During this free weekend players will be able to download and play the complete game for free with no restrictions. Additionally, the game will also be available for players to purchase with a 10% discount, bringing the game down to $26.99 (Originally $29.99).
Torn Banner Studios also announced its post launch plans for Mirage: Arcane Warfare earlier this week. The development studio is aware of the low player count and is working hard to bring new players into the game. On launch day the game saw some technical issues that led to a rough start for Mirage’s launch week server population. The studio is working hard to address these issues in addition to working with Steam on “relaunch” event for Mirage: Arcane Warfare. This free weekend is also part of that initiative. Other plans the studio has to bring more players into the game is hosting community events to celebrate the launch in addition to working on two brand new maps.
The game is expected to receive a content update in July that will bring two maps, new customization gear, and some unannounced content the studio has been working on. The two new maps are “The Pit” and “Old Arena”. In The Pit, players will have to avoid an exploding geyser in the middle of the map, while in Old Arena players will have to battle high in remote mountains while avoiding falling through a collapsed floor.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare is currently available on PC via Steam for $29.99. Beginning June 8th and running through June 11th, players can pick up the game at a 10% discount. You can read our preview of Mirage: Arcane Warfare here.
