What is The Mirror Dimension in Spider-Man: No Way Home?

December 16, 2021

After the events of Avengers Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is well and truly back in full flow.

Over the past year, we’ve received a bunch of TV shows, Black Widow, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, Eternals and now Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While every piece of media plays into the MCU, it’s hard to imagine that any of them will have as much of an impact as No Way Home, even though it has left viewers with a range of questions.

One of these questions about No Way Home regards the Mirror Dimension and what it actually is as viewers see Doctor Strange and Peter Parker fighting in it. Let’s answer that question now.

What is The Mirror Dimension in Spider-Man: No Way Home?

As stated, in Spider-Man: No Way Home, our friendly neighbourhood spider is seen wrangling in the Mirror Dimension with Doctor Strange over a “magic cube”.

The Mirror Dimension looks a lot like New York, however, Strange is seen manipulating the world around him in his favour to help him come out trumps against Peter.

So, effectively, a Mirror Dimension is a copy of the regular world in which the user can freely use magic to their advantage without disturbing those in the regular world.

A Mirror Dimension has appeared a handful of times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe already, making a prominent appearance in the original Doctor Strange and then once again in Avengers: Infinity War, where Doctor Strange tries and fails to use one against Thanos.
