Mirror's Edge Getting a Television Series from the People who Made The Biggest Loser and MasterChef

May 25, 2016

According to Deadline, Endemol Shine Studios , the television studio that made The Biggest Loser, has acquired the rights to adapt Mirror’s Edge into a television series.

When asked about the acquisition, Sharon Hall, President of Endemol Shine Studios said:

“We clearly see Mirror’s Edge as a franchise for the global TV audience. It has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.”

While the studio that brought us The Biggest Loser, Big Brother, and MasterChef is an odd choice for a video game inspired TV show, I have always thought Mirror’s Edge would make a cool TV show or movie if shot in a similar style to Hardcore Henry, an action movie that was shot entirely in first person view.

There is no word yet on casting or when we should expect this TV show to start.  That being said, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the newest game in the series is coming out on June 7th for North America and June 9th for Europe.
