The PS4 launches in just a few more days, and with pre-orders sold out, it would seem all hope of walking into retail store to buy one would be incredibly unlikely.
Luckily, Sony is offering a few more additional PS4 units (or, make that 444 units, specifically), for sale at their midnight launch event on November 15th, at The Standard High Line Hotel in downtown New York City (848 Washington Street). The one caveat is that only credit cards will be accepted online for the systems (no cash), but make sure to get online early: or at least earlier than everyone else bound to be waiting there for one.
Aside from getting a PS4, the launch event will also host an arcade, “a gigantic interactive lighting installation,” demos of PS4 titles with game developers and other industry personnel, and an art installation leading up to Spike TV’s live coverage of the event and sales of the PS4 starting at midnight.
So, if you haven’t yet secured your PS4 yet, there’s always the midnight launch event in NYC on Thursday night/Friday morning: just plan to be early and stay late.
