If you like reading books about heroes and villains ingesting metal to gain power, boy are you in for a treat. The Mistborn trilogy of novels, penned by Brandon Sanderson, has a prequel on the way in the form of, you guessed it, a brand spanking-new video game. Titled Mistborn: Birthright, the game will also be written by Sanderson, who authored novel adaptations of Infinity Blade II and co-authored the Wheel of Time series.

The game's magic system will center around Allomancy, that trick where you eat metal to boost your abilities. You play as Fendin "Fiddle" Fathvel, a young noble who needs to learn the art in order to defend his family. The game takes place centuries before the events of the first Mistborn novel. No details on a release date yet, but as always, we'll keep you posted.
