A few days ago Brave Frontier and Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius Developer Alim teased a new game, and today we finally got the reveal on what it is about.

The title is Mist Gears, and it is being created in partnership with Star Ocean developer tri-Aceand publisher Shueisha.

The game itself will be for iOS and Android, but the franchise will also include a manga titled MistGears Blast, and a light novel titled MistGears Ghost.

The scenario will be written by Hajime Tanaka, while Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden mangaka Yoichi Amano will take care of the character design.

A beta for Android will be conducted between September 7th and September 10th in Japan. The game is a joint project by tri-Ace and Alim and will release in the fall of 2018.

It’ll be an “environmental RPG” in which the mist can change the playing field, and even power up weapons and armor called Mist Gear through a device named Mist Core. Multiplayer with up to four players will also be supported.

The story is about a post-apocalyptic world that has been engulfed by said mist, which heralds the coming of “the world’s worst natural disaster.”In order to stop this countdown towards destruction, the heroes launch “Operation MistBreak.”
