Miyamori Teaser Trailer Hints at what Happens when You Try and Outfox a Shrine Guardian
Canadian developer Sparrow House Games are planning on bringing their Japanese folklore inspired platformer Miyamori to Kickstarter later this month. To mark the occasion they released a teaser trailer of the game that showed off the eye-catching artstyle while only subtly displayed the gameplay and story.
This tale focuses on a pair of simultaneous disappearances: one of a resident of Tōhoku, and the other a shrine guardian in the form of a fox. The player controls the two looking for their missing friends, human Suzume and vulpine Izuna, as they search through forest and town. However, evil spirits have escaped due to the shrine’s weakened state and they will do anything to stay in our world.
Miyamori currently is being made for PC and Mac and has a ‘TBA 2017’ release schedule. The launch of the Kickstarter campaign does have a firm date of October 26th so expect to learn more about yokai and guardian foxes soon.
