Last week Nintendo held a press conference in Paris detailing their upcoming lineup, and among the games discussed was Super Mario 3D, the upcoming flagship Mario title for the Nintendo 3DS.

NeoGAF has translated the press conference, and gives word that Nintendo godfather Shigeru Miyamoto said, "To give you an idea of Super Mario 3D, imagine a mixture of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy with a little bit of New Super Mario Bros."

Not much else was revealed; Miyamoto stated that the game would be fully unveiled at E3 in a little over a month. If the dudes at Nintendo are going for a Galaxy vibe, I cannot freaking wait. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was an absolute revelation, and the benchmark of platformer level design; if we can get more of that, I would be beyond pleased.
