Comics books and Mortal Kombat tend to go hand in hand quite well. Whether its the fantastically written Mortal Kombat X prelude series released by DC Comics a few years ago, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3's crossover title Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe or even the abysmal old 1990s run of Malibu comics; there's a long-running checkered history between the two. However, the classic fighting game series has never crossed paths with the Marvel universe. Having said that, one particular piece of fan art will make you wish that it had. With the wheels in motion for Mortal Kombat 11, the upcoming instalment in the franchise, Warner Bros. recently launched the MK Kollective to coincide with the title. Put quite simply, the MK Kollective is a way for creators to show off their Mortal Kombat related creations including cosplay, sculptures, fan art, and more. One of the MK Kollective's 20 official ambassadors BossLogic is a well-renowned illustrator. A recent series of tweets saw him recreating Thanos' infinity gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War in a number of different art styles. The most popular of which had a Mortal Kombat twist to it.The image, which can be seen in the tweet below, displays a gauntlet which sports the same color scheme as Mortal Kombat's poster boy Scorpion. The glove features armor plating and straps similar to those seen on his costumes in recent games. Where the infinity stones should usually slot into the knuckles, we instead see hellfire bursting out surrounded by hot smoke. The main focal points of the image are the traditional Mortal Kombat dragon emblem embedded in the back of the gauntlet while Scorpion's fist tightens around his iconic weapon.Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on April 23, 2019, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and even Nintendo Switch. Keep an eye out for more MK Kollective creations on the run-up to the game's release.
