The Perfect Game Challenge continues this year but it’s been revamped! MLB 2K12 cover athlete Justin Verlander made a guest appearance on Conan and revealed something that baseball enthusiasts will absolutely love.
For those that aren’t familiar with the Perfect Game Challenge, the crafty folks at 2K Sports hatched a brilliant marketing plan last year that made one young man a millionaire in less than 90 minutes.
All you had to do was be the first person to pitch a perfect game in MLB 2K10 and win $1 million. Sounds easy? It’s much harder than you think, authenticity plays a big role in the game so you just won’t be able to throw knuckleballs and hard sinkers at Albert Pujols without expecting any sort of repercussion; 450 feet repercussion.
Justine Verlander, esteemed ace of the Detroit Tigers told Conan that The Perfect Game Challenge will be a little different this time around; the top eight perfect game pitchers will now compete in a tournament style in New York. Kind of like a world series for wannabe pitchers. Interested? Its a million bucks…what’s stopping you?
