Ahead of its release in 2020, Sony today announced that beta signups for MLB The Show 20 have now gone live.

Over on MLB The Show's official website, you can now sign up to enter the beta for the next entry in the series. You'll have to log in with your PlayStation Network account in order to be considered for this trial of the game. The beta will see "Events, Battle Royale, Play with Friends, and DD vs CPU" as the playable modes that you can test out in this version of the game. None of your progress that you then may earn during this beta of the game will carry over to the full release.

The beta for MLB The Show 20 will go live next month beginning on January 14 and will last until the 20th. However, if you make it into the closed beta, you'll be able to begin downloading it starting on January 13. Notifications on if you've been chosen to participate will also go out on the same date.

MLB The Show 20 will release next year on March 17, 2020, exclusively on PS4. If you pre-order one of the versions of the game other than the standard edition, you'll be able to gain access a few days early starting on March 13.

Moving into 2021, the series will then begin coming to other platforms such as Xbox One and Nintendo Switch based on Sony's new partnership deal with Major League Baseball.
