In a new blog post on the official PlayStation website, San Diego Studio has confirmed that MLB The Show 23 will be released on March 28th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has also now been confirmed as the cover athlete for the game.

All of the aforementioned platforms will support cross-platform play, cross-saves and cross-progression, allowing players to have access to all of their progress and card inventory on the console of their choice. This only excludes content earned through PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive modes like Stadium Creator, but progress in any other modes like Road to the Show or Franchise mode can be transferred normally to a different console.

Players are advised to connect all their primary platform accounts to the official MLB The Show website to facilitate the transfer process. The report also recommends that players should sign up for The Scouting Report newsletter when creating a new linked account, in order to receive all the latest MLB The Show 23 information and get exclusive game packs each month, starting from April.

Feature Premier is also making a return with MLB The Show 23. It refers to Youtube and Twitch episodes players can follow to get a glimpse of all the new features getting added in the upcoming game. These episodes are currently in the works, and even if players can't watch them live, they will stay uploaded so that anyone can watch them at their own convenience.

MLB The Show 23 will be available in both a standard edition and collector's edition. The standard edition will be available on last-gen consoles for $59.99 USD/$69.99 CAD, whilst current-gen owners will be paying $10 more. Details for the collector's edition are not yet revealed, as San Diego is still saving the surprise for February 2nd, but it is confirmed that all collector’s editions of the game will support dual entitlement. This means that each edition will come with a PlayStation 4 disc along with PlayStation 5 voucher, and players wouldn't have to worry about which collector's edition to get.

The developer has also posted an extensive FAQ that should answer any questions players might have. Other than what's already mentioned in the blog report, the FAQ also states that Stubs (virtual game currency) are locked to the platform they are purchased on, and that everything from the tech test will not carry over to the final game.
