Day 1 of the first MLG Combine in Nashville, TN is in the books. Gamers from all over the nation gathered at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center to see if they have what it takes to make it on the MLG Pro Circuit. Hundreds of gamers and thousands of fans, with more expected on Saturday and Sunday, filled the convention center in the Music City and MLG did not disappoint. The Halo 3 FFA action was intense from the start as gamers, young and old, battled it out trying to impress MLG scouts and Pros.
Sundance himself was on hand to get the tournament started, and the over the top approach of MLG let the crowd know that this was as good as it gets for professional gaming. Contestants were treated like Pro-gamers and the crowds erupted with every head-shot and sick kill shot.
The job for the evaluators this weekend looks to be a hard one as many players showed some true skill. Some were even picked out of the competition to have a one on one evaluation session with a scout and pro. This will of course continue throughout the weekend as well. Not only can you win your way into the Pro-Circuit, but great game play can be seen and rewarded just the same.
Also included at the tournament was a chance of a lifetime for gamers, to throw down with some of the MLG Pros that are on hand for the weekend. Pro Gamers such as Clutch, Pistola, Totz, and Strongside not only evaluated players, but also played a few rounds against some of the eager gamers at the Doritos sponsored tournament.
The action continues on Saturday with the Halo 3 4v4 Team competition.
