On September 14, Bandai Namco announced Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs 2 Cross Boost for arcade. No release date estimate was shared yet. However, a Closed Beta Test will be held in Japanese arcades in early November. The announcement happened at the end of the latest tournament, steamed live on YouTube, and was later shared by the GundamVS official account:

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs 2 Cross Boost is officially stylized "X Boost", with the Roman number X signifying it's celebrating the tenth anniversary of the series. "Cross" also symbolizes the intersection of all Gundam series, and how the game will strive to be the "newest evolution of the classic 2 Vs 2 system of the Gundam VS series, featuring hot-blooded battles to be enjoyed with your friends and rivals". It's likely many new Suits will be added with this sequel. Most notably from the second season of Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise, which just finished airing this August.

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs 2 Cross Boost will be the newest entry in the series following the PS4 enhanced port of Extreme Vs Maxi Boost ON, released worldwide on July 30, 2020. It's likely Cross Boost will also be ported to PS4 or even PS5 later on in the future. Hopefully the game won't take too long to release outside Japan as well.

Personally speaking, it's not a secret, arcades aren't doing too well these days in Japan seeing the Covid-19 situation. As such, I believe it's slightly worrying how Cross Boost will fare, or any recently announced arcade game, like that new Initial D The Arcade game by Sega, which recently had its own test event. We'll see how it goes. And hopefully all of the world will be out of this mess soon.
