A very short gameplay clip of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was recently shared by Infinity Ward, and it has quickly garnered concern from fans due to the wild recoil pattern of the weapon.

Activision recently confirmed that a new 'Call of Duty: Next' digital event will take place on September 15th, which will showcase the future of the Call of Duty franchise. The event will be presented by Infinity Ward and will feature robust information, live gameplay, a full Multiplayer reveal for Modern Warfare 2, and plenty of other surprises.

But, in the lead-up to the Call of Duty: Next event, Infinity Ward will be dropping special intel across their social media accounts. The first intel drop showcased a new 6v6 Multiplayer map, Marina Bay Grand Prix, which will be available in the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta next month.

Infinity Ward then followed up with another intel drop a few days later, which revealed yet another Multiplayer map, Farm 18. The upcoming map will expand on the hugely popular Shoothouse from Modern Warfare, but with more opportunities to explore the surrounding areas of the main building. As incredible as the map looks, it was the weapon recoil that took fans by surprise from the short clip.

Call of Duty news accounts such as

">ModernWarzone and CharlieIntel, who have both had the opportunity to go hands-on with Modern Warfare 2, were quick to point out the insane recoil pattern of the weapon featured in the clip. For those curios, check out the clip below.

Many fans pointed out that the weapon likely has no attachments equipped, whilst others still felt that the recoil pattern was a little unnecessary. One fan replied "that horizontal jump to the right seems a little excessive", whilst another said "not even aim assist can help with that recoil".

Of course, with the release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still over two months away, there's still likely some weapon balancing in the works. Whether or not all weapons will actually have this crazy amount of recoil is unclear, but with an Open Beta set to take place in September, we don't have long to go until we find out.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
