Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Remastered has been amidst rumors for a long time now, and the community was eagerly looking forward to an announcement for the highly anticipated title.

Activision has released the remastered versions of some of the other titles in the Modern Warfare franchise, and those managed to garner a lot of acclamation from fans and critics alike.

A number of leaks had suggested that Activision is probably working on a Modern Warfare 3 Remastered as well. For the record, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was one of the best-selling titles ever in the franchise's history. It was critically acclaimed for both its multiplayer and campaign, with some even considering it one of the best game's in the franchise's history.

Leaks had suggested that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Remastered will be bundled with Call of Duty Vanguard, which is slated to release later this year. While it was speculated that only the single-player campaign would be featured in the remaster, there was still a lot of hype around it. However, it seems like it was not at all true.

Modern Warfare 3 Remastered Leaks Were False, Clarifies Activision

Today, Activision has denied the existence of a Modern Warfare 3 Remastered, in a statement to Charlie Intel. Activision added, “A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect.”

While this might be disappointing for many fans out there, it still makes sense to a lot of extent. Activision has been using the strategy of supporting the multiplayer of Cold War and Warzone and integrating new yearly titles with them. Releasing another single-player remaster alongside that seems quite less of a probability in that case.
