Mojang and Bethesda Settle Lawsuit: Scrolls Will Keep its Name

on March 10, 2012 3:23 PM

Remember the lawsuit filed by Bethesda against Mojang over the Scrolls trademark? It’s over and it didn’t even require trial by combat.

The two companies reached a settlement on the issue, as announced today on Mojang’s official page and further elaborated by Mojang’s own Markus “Notch” Persson on his personal twitter account

As a result of the settlement, Mojang’s game Scrolls will get to keep its original title, while the company will actually hand over the trademark to Bethesda.

In addition to that Mojang will never make a competitor to the Elder Scrolls series using the Scrolls name.

Mojang and Bethesda are friends again: All is right with the world.
