Mojang's First Third-Party Title Will Be Cobalt

Minecraft developers Mojang have been looking to get into the publishing racket recently, and I guess they’ve found their first game: Oxeye Game Studios’ Cobalt. It’s not a bad game to start off with either, as Cobalt’s been getting quite some buzz lately for its gameplay, graphics, and potential greatness.

A platformer centered around a robot-cyborg doohickey named Agent Cobalt, the game looks to be an extremely action-oriented Metroidvania-style game, with striking visuals and a fantastically appropriate upbeat soundtrack. Check out the new trailer after the jump, and prepare for another possible winner from Mojang when this comes out soon on the PC.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
