Today, during Sony Interactive Entertainment's E3 2017 press briefing, the house of PlayStation and Square Enix announced the release date for what apparently used to be Final Fantasy XV's PlayStation VR experience.

The title is now defined "a completely new game" and is titled Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV. It will be released in September 2017 exclusively for PlayStation VR.

Apparently, Square Enix is counting on the popularity of the original game's fishing minigame, as Monster of the Deep will prompt players to explore the world’s oceans, lakes, ponds and rivers and to participate in a wide variety of fishing challenges.

There isn't much information for now on what the game entails, and on how it'll be distributed, but you can check out a trailer below.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One, and is getting a new DLC titled Episode Prompto later this month. A new update including the off-road-capable Regalia Type-F will also be released for free.
