Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin - Release Date, Time and Deluxe Details

Capcom is certainly riding the wave of Monster Hunter’s current explosion in popularity.

Following the stellar critical and commercial success of Monster Hunter World a couple of years back and much more recently, Monster Hunter Rise on the Nintendo Switch, we’re on the verge of receiving a sequel to the spin-off series – Monster Hunter Stories.

The follow-up, titled Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, was revealed back in September last year, during a Nintendo Direct Partner Presentation and is now just days away.

Here are all the details you need to know about Monster Hunter Stories 2, including the release date and time.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Freedom Release Date, Time and Platforms

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is scheduled for release this Friday, July 9. It will be dropping on both the Nintendo Switch and PC (Via Steam).

The game will be dropping on Steam in “1 day, 18 hours” from the time of writing. That means it will be available at the following times around the world:

  • 9 pm (July 8) – PDT
  • 11 pm (July 8) – C
  • Midnight – EST
  • 4 am – UTC
  • 5 am – BST
  • 6 am – CEST

In terms of the Switch, Nintendo states on their official UK site that:

“Content will usually be available at 14:00 GMT (15:00 CET) on the day of release.” However, they add “some third-party titles may not be not available until 17:00 GMT (18:00 CET).”

On the US Site, Nintendo states:

“Digital software that is also sold physically will usually be available at 9:00 pm.” Again, adding the caveat that “some third-party titles are not available until 12:00 pm PT”

Deluxe Edition Details and Pre-order Bonus

For anybody who pre-orders Monster Hunter Rise, there is a pre-order bonus.

This bonus is the “Kamura Maiden Outfit for Ena.” This bonus allows players to dress Ena as one of the hub maidens from Monster Hunter Rise.

The Deluxe Edition of the game also comes with a range of added cosmetics. They are as follows:

  • Ena’s Outfit: Kuan Coat
  • Rider’s Layered Armor: Razewing Armor Alpha & Beta
  • Rider’s Hairstyle: Spiky Nergal
  • Navirou’s Outfits: Nergigante and Pukei-Pukei Costumes
  • Sticker Sets: Adventure Buddies 2 & 3
