Monster Hunter Stories Arrives this Fall in the West for 3DS

The game's release window was announced for later this fall in today's Nintendo Direct.

Today, Nintendo announced during their April Direct that Monster Hunter Stories will be arriving on the 3DS later this fall. The game originally released last October in Japan but will be coming everywhere else later this year.

Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off of the Monster Hunter series and features more cartoon-like graphics that other entries. Unlike previous Monster Hunter games, Monster Hunter Stories allows players to take the role of a monster Rider rather than a monster Hunter. You will also be able to bond with your monsters to raise their potential and fighting power through the game’s turn based combat system.

The trailer that was shown in today’s Direct featured footage of players flying, swimming, and running on the backs on their monsters throughout the game’s expansive world. Additionally, we caught a glimpse of finding eggs and witnessing new monsters hatch from them.

More info should be revealed for Monster Hunter Stories over the next few months as we near its release for the 3DS this fall.
