During a stage show at Jump Festa at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba near Tokyo, Capcom showcased some new gameplay of the upcoming mainline Monster Hunter game Monster Hunter World.

The gameplay, played live on stage, showcased a hunt against one of the Wildspire Waste's most fearsome monsters, the elder dragon Nergigante.

Unfortunately, we don't get to see the end of the hunt, but it's a nice look at the game nonetheless.

You can check out the recording below. If you want to see more of Monster Hunter World, you can also check out a series of mini-trailers from yesterday morning, a trailer from a couple of days ago  focusing on the cute Palico buddies, the latest screenshots released on the same day, showing the game’s most relevant NPCs, our comparison between the three graphics modes on PS4 Pro, and read about the updates planned by Capcom after the game’s release.

Incidentally, we just learned that the game’s dedicated PS4 Pro console sold 33,000 units in Japan last week and that the PS4 beta is coming back on December 22nd, this time around open to everyone.

Monster Hunter World will launch worldwide on January 26th, for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version coming at a later date.
