As we inch closer and closer to the release of Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne expansion, the team at Capcom has slowly been pulling back the curtain on everything coming. Today, we got our first look at one of the monstrous beasts in the form of the returning Glavenus. There were a few other details revealed, but Glavenus and his massive tail stole the show. Watch his star-making performance below.

Monster Hunter players will know Glavenus from his role in Monster Hunter Generations. He's absolutely massive and would pack quite a punch even if you only had to deal with his front side. Unfortunately, his backside happens to be a gigantic, sword-like tail that is perfectly suited for carving up any player who gets too close.

Glavenus is the main event of the trailer, but we also get a look at the two brand new subspecies: Ebony Odograon and Fulgur Anjanath. MH: W players will already know the Odogaron and Anjanath from their appearances in the base game; however, these new variants will up the challenge quite a bit. They are much more powerful and possess new attacks, along with new elemental strengths and weaknesses.

The team also provided a very brief look at the new gathering hub. Not many details were given about it in this video. That said, the team has also posted their first dev diary, which promises to give more details about everything seen here. I'll post it for you at the bottom of this page.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on September 6. It will be coming to PC at some point this winter.
