The highly-anticipated Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter: World is set to arrive later this year in September but ahead of that time, players on PS4 consoles will soon be able to test out the add-on for themselves.

As announced by Capcom today, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is set to have a beta on PS4 that will start for some later this week. For those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you'll be able to dive into Iceborne beginning this Friday, June 21 and lasting until Monday, June 24. If you aren't subscribed to PS Plus, then you'll be able to get in on the action next week starting on June 28 and lasting until July 1.

As for what this beta will entail, Capcom says it will offer three different quests to choose from. For beginners, you'll be able to hunt down the Great Jagras while intermediate hunters will be able to take on the horned brute wyvern Banbaro. For the most experienced of hunters, you'll be able to tackle the Tigrex. The beta will also allow you to test out all of the different weapons types in each of these three hunts. If you complete each of the hunts listed here, you'll earn consumable items that can then be utilized in the full release of Iceborne.

We tried out Iceborne for ourselves just last week during E3 2019 and we loved what we played of it. If you're looking forward to the expansion later this year, it seems like it's definitely worth getting excited about.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is set to launch later this year on PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019. The expansion will then come to PC at an undetermined date this winter.
