While the game originally released last year, Monster Hunter World has continued to grow a fervent community and playerbase thanks to its compelling gameplay and huge roster of monsters to face. Coming off the heels of its most recent expansion for the console versions (and coming to PC later), Iceborne, Capcom is giving players of the game on PC a glimpse into the future of the game into next year.

Over on the official website for the PC version of Monster Hunter World, Capcom has updated the page with a development roadmap detailing some of the future updates that are in the works for the game on Steam. When it originally launched, the PC version notably did not have some of the more recent content that came to the console versions in later updates. However, Capcom stated that the company is "planning on making all previously released console-version free title updates available as soon as possible" for the PC version.

Specifically, Capcom says in the roadmap that the development team's goal is to "fast-track development and catch up with the console updates and release them at the same time" as they would on PS4 and Xbox One.

In terms of the content outlined on the roadmap, Capcom detailed that after the release of the Iceborne expansion for the PC version in January, the first major title update will arrive in early February 2020 and feature the Rajang monster hunt, the Resident Evil-themed skins and content, and more. Likewise, the next major title update for the PC version is aimed to arrive in March 2020, and will primarily focus on bringing new monsters and hunts to the game.

While the PC version of the game has been available for over a year, Capcom's update is an encouraging glimpse into the future of the game on Steam. Though Iceborne is coming on PC several months after console players have been able to go through the expansion, PC players won't have to wait too much longer after to get more out of the engrossing RPG.

Monster Hunter World is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with the Iceborne expansion having released for consoles in September and coming to the PC version in January.
