Monster Hunter X Surpasses 4G’s Total Japanese eShop Sales in One Week
Capcom’s Japanese-exclusive Nintendo 3DS title, Monster Hunter X, has only been available for less than four days, yet it has already managed to outsell Monster Hunter 4G’s eShop lifetime sales numbers — since October 11, 2014 — according to Nintendo Japan’s eShop rankings.
While Nintendo’s eShop rankings do not come with definitive sales numbers, chances are they are substantial given Monster Hunter 4G’s more than 3 million Japanese lifetime sales and 500,000 total eShop downloads as of October 2015. Additionally, it is unknown whether this indicates a trend of consumers towards digital downloads, or if overall sales are increased.
There has been no official announcement about whether the title will be coming to Western markets.
