Today, Capcom revealed the first-ever special edition Switch hardware: and it's Monster Hunter XX themed.

As you may remember, late last month Nintendo and Capcom announced that Monster Hunter XX was making its way to the Switch after launching exclusively on the 3DS.

Previously, only the dock of this special edition had been shown off, but now Capcom has revealed the actual Switch and its Monster Hunter XX special design, alongside the official packaging.

As you can you see for yourself via the image below, the Monster Hunter XX Special Edition keeps it largely simple and classy, with a banner design running across the top-back alongside the dragon design and the name of game below it.

Monster Hunter XX was first announced back in October 2016, and then released in Japan on the 3DS in March 2017 (it has yet to be announced for the west). For those that don't know, it is simply an expanded version of Monster Hunter Generations. At the moment of writing this Monster Hunter XX has sold 1.5 million copies at retail alone. However, according to Capcom, its initial sales were “unsatisfactory.”

Below, you can check the special edition Switch and its packaging. At the moment, a release date is unknown.
