Monument Valley 2 Receives an Android Release Date Five Months Following Its iOS Launch

After surprise-launching Monument Valley 2 onto the App Store in June 2017, ustwo games announces the Android release date.

In 2014, London-based developer ustwo games released its M.C. Escher-inspired puzzle game Monument Valley for mobile devices to tremendous critical acclaim. Then, a surprise sequel launched onto iOS devices in June 2017. Since that time, the Monument Valley 2 has remained an iOS exclusive, but today we learned that the game will be coming to Android devices soon.

On November 6, Monument Valley 2 will release to the Google Play shop to tell Android players the tale of mother and child as they navigate its architecturally mind-bending world.

For the original Monument Valley, ustwo games revealed that piracy was a considerable detriment to profitability with only 5% of Monument Valley installs on Android paid for and only 40% on iOS. Although the game wound up selling over $14 million in revenue by May 2016, it’s unfortunate to learn of rampant piracy and we can only hope a similar situation is not repeated in the full release of Monument Valley 2.

Monument Valley 2 is currently available on the App Store for $4.99. It will release to the Google Play Store on November 6, presumably for the same price. For more information on the game, you can visit its official website.

Below is the game’s original release trailer, detailing its illusory and meditative puzzles.
