Moonlighter Gets New Trailer Showing Action RPG Combat and Shopkeeping Gameplay
Today, developer Digital Sun Games and publisher 11 bit games released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming action RPG, MoonLighter, which you may recognize from its appearance on Square Enix Collective and from Kickstarter, where it raised over $100,000 USD.
The new trailer — which is one minute and 52 seconds long — shows off not only some of the game’s action RPG combat and rogulike elements, but also shows off a glimpse of shopkeeping gameplay. For those unfamiliar with Moonlighter’s premise: here’s an official overview:
Moonlighter is a action RPG with rogue-lite elements about Will, an adventurous shopkeeper, that secretly dreams of becoming a hero.
To earn the daily bread, he needs to venture into the dungeons near his town, defeat strange enemies and obtain loot to be sold at his shop.
Wisely managing the gold from those sales is the only way he’ll get strong enough to risk into deeper gates and, maybe, open the sealed one.
Moonlighter has endless randomly generated dungeons, a myriad of cool and expensive items, many weapons, dozens of weird enemies, five incredibly tough bosses and gold… tones of gold!
You start with 100 gold coins. Some cheap equipment.
And a shop.
Moonlighter is currently poised to release for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux sometime in 2017. Digital Sun Games has revealed that it’s investigating a release on Nintendo Switch.
