While the PlayStation Experience trailer for Moonlighter not be entirely original, it's worth noting that a byline of the video announces some new information. It seems like developer Digital Sun Games has narrowed the title's release date to Q1 2018 -- at least for the PlayStation 4 version.

Ever since Moonlighter was officially revealed, the release date has been speculative at best. Originally Digital Sun was aiming to be within 2017, but couldn't make any assurances -- and that skepticism was a good call. The game was then pushed to "sometime in 2018," which -- along with the Nintendo Switch port announcement -- narrowed further to Early 2018 (Jan. 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018).

This new release date (Q1 2018) would shorten that gap by three months, meaning the game should come between Jan. 1, 2018 and Mar. 31, 2018. Sure, it's not a final answer, but it's better than nothing. However, it is currently unclear if this new launch window is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

What is Moonlighter? The game is a top-down action RPG that focuses on Will, a shopkeeper who may be an NPC for other adventurers... but he wants the main spot. And reflective of the titular name, he moonlights as an adventurer to get the experience and adventure he craves. For a better idea into Moonlighter, check the DualShockers preview out.

Moonlighter is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q1 2018. Check out the repurposed trailer that was released for PlayStation Experience, below:
