More Details Surface on Street Fighter’s 25th Anniversary Celebration

The world’s most famous fighting game series is turning 25 years old this year. I’m talking about Street Fighter, and Capcom is preparing to give one of its biggest series a fitting birthday party. They’ve revealed that the celebration will encompass a series of tournaments that will take place throughout the year, ending in December. Capcom will be blowing $500,000 in cash and prizes for this series of tournaments. There will of course be Street Fighter X Tekken tournaments, but others will involve classic Street Fighter games.

No further details are available, although news on when this shindig will kick off is coming “soon”. I was sure that this celebration would involve some sort of tournament, but I’m more excited about whether or not any new games or collections will come out of this. We will find out in due time. Street Fighter X Tekken launches March 6th.
