More Hints at a Console Version of Diablo III

By Kenneth Richardson

February 18, 2011

We already know that Blizzard is interested in bringing its best selling action RPG series Diablo to consoles, but it has yet to happen. The developer recently posted a job ad for a senior producer and you’ll never believe the name of the project: Console Diablo III. This actually isn’t too surprising since something nearly identical happened in November of last year, although we still haven’t heard confirmation of anything.

Blizzard has however since issued a statement that the listing for this job in no way confirms the existence of a console version of the yet unreleased Diablo III but rather, they are just exploring the idea of bringing the game to consoles. So in short, it doesn’t exist but they’re trying to make it happen. With the length of Diablo III‘s development cycle, the game may as well launch on consoles and the PC at the same time.
