Information, screenshots and trailers on the new Digimon World game has been released today. Digimon World Re:Digitize was originally released for the PSP in 2012 and will come out for the 3DS on June 27th as an enhanced version under the title Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode.

A new chapter, called The X Antibody’s Mournful Cry, has been announced for the game. An infinitely running virus with the capabilities to delete all Digimon has been unleashed upon the Digital World and the party must stop its spread before it’s too late.  The ultimate form of Tyranomon, LastTyranomon, is also unveiled in this update–from the screenshots, it seems to encourage the party members and may be a Digimon partner later on. The game also features an apartment system in which the player shares an apartment complex with other Digimon and can converse with them (he of course must also pay rent).

The first trailer below outlines the general gameplay of Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode–the player must feed, raise and take care of their Digimon as they can get sick, injured or even die. The second trailer shows off the X Antibody’s Mournful Cry chapter in action. And if the artstyle seems familiar to you, that’s because Suzuhito Yasuda (the artist behind Durarara!! and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor) was in charge of character designs.
