An entirely new character has today been unveiled to be joining the official roster of Mortal Kombat 11 when it launches later this month.

Revealed exclusively by Game Informer, Cetrion has now joined Geras as one of the entirely new fighters joining MK11. Cetrion is an Elder Goddess who has powers that stem from her connection to the Earth. Basically, she seems like Mother Nature and the Avatar (the Airbender not the James Cameron film) combined in one.

In addition to revealing the new fighter, Game Informer also showed off Cetrion's first official gameplay footage as well. She can use elemental attacks that utilize ice, vines, and fire to deal major damage to enemies. Cetrion also seems to be a strong zoning fighter, from the footage that we can see. That said, she also has a few moves that allow her to close a distance quickly and string together combos up close as well.

Lastly, this gameplay footage also shows off a first look at one of her fatalities and it might be the wackiest one I've seen in MK11 so far. I won't spoil what the fatality is in case you want to watch it for yourself, but it's more goofy than it is brutal.

If you want to watch this first gameplay footage in question for Cetrion, you can follow the link right here to go watch it for yourself. Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release later this month on April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. If you're interested in post-launch fighters, NetherRealm has also confirmed that Shang Tsung will be the game's first DLC character.
