Mortal Kombat 11 Gets an Official Kombat League on June 18
Mortal Kombat 11 is getting a new Kombat League where players can rank up and earn exclusive cosmetic gear for the favorite fighters.
Mortal Kombat 11 players who were looking for a great way to test their might and earn rewards are getting a brand new competitive mode to slaughter foes in. Developer NetherRealm revealed the first season of the team’s Kombat League today. Watch the announce trailer for all the details below.
Kombat League will be MK11‘s version of ranked seasonal play. Once the season kicks off, you’ll have four weeks to try to take yourself through the nine ranks. Everyone starts as an Apprentice and is trying to move all the way up to the rank of Elder God.
To rank up, you’ll need to win sets against other fighters online. Every set moves you closer to the next rank. Each time you hit a new rank, you’ll gain access to new, exclusive rewards. These will only be available during that season. You’ll also be rewarded at the end of the season based on the highest rank you earned during that season. So, if you start out on a hot streak and then drop down the leaderboard later on the season, you won’t be penalized when the season ends.
In addition to normal ranked matches, you’ll also have daily and seasonal challenges available. These quests will give you other rewards as well. Thus, logging in and playing your sets every day is something you’re going to want to do if you plan to earn all the cosmetics in a season.
If you were worried you’d have to wait a while for the season to start, NetherRealm has great news. The “Season of Blood” kicks off tomorrow on June 18. If you haven’t picked up Mortal Kombat 11 on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, or Xbox One, now is an excellent time to do so.
