Mortal Kombat 11’s Reveal Event will Unveil Characters and Story Elements

The upcoming community reveal event for Mortal Kombat 11 will showcase some of the title's gameplay, story, and characters.

There is just over a week left to go before the gameplay reveal for upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 11 and fans of the series are starting to get a little bit anxious.

The title was first revealed at the Games Awards last month with a vicious trailer showcasing a fight between veteran characters Raiden and Scorpion. The trailer ended with news of a community reveal event scheduled mid-January, but nothing more was said on the matter.

A Mortal Kombat fan took to Twitter to inquire about the possibility of new characters. A response from the franchise’s official account then went into detail about what blood-thirsty players can expect to see next week.

It was stated that gameplay would be revealed, and from the screenshots released so far, it’s safe to assume that it will be following in the footsteps of the last two Mortal Kombat games by providing a 2D experience. The event will also see characters being unveiled, however, it hasn’t been specified if it will be focusing on new additions to the roster or members of the series’ classic returning cast. To top it all off, we’ll also get to a glimpse of what the game’s storyline will consist of; an element that Netherrealm Studios excels at.

Mortal Kombat 11’s community reveal event will be taking place in London, England on January 17. The full game will be available on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
