It's been a whirlwind week for the newly announced Mortal Kombat 11. In a new leak, GameStop Italy has overshared in the game's listing offering a brand new render and unreleased details on the upcoming game.

Seen on GameStop Italy's listing of Mortal Kombat 11 Premium Edition (which is archived here) a more detailed description adds some details that we haven't heard about yet. The subpoints say (roughly), with the bolding added for emphasis:

  • New game engine, with even more bloody and bloody scenes;
  • New customization system, with clothes, accessories and move sets never seen before;
  • New Fatality as well as a new GoreTech system to make the executions even more brutal; and
  • Strong multiplayer component, fully oriented towards the esports: personalization systems, daily news, constantly updated rewards and an improved matchmaking.

This GoreTech system so far hasn't been officially mentioned by developer NeatherRealm, and it isn't immediately clear what the system is. As you may have noticed though, it will play in conjunction with the series' signature Fatality system to deliver on a different type of executions.

Also, added into the gallery was a brand new picture of Shao Kahn, the pre-order bonus that was already revealed. The new image, seen below and in the featured image, shows Shao Kahn in a more clear light than in the initial teaser trailer:

SHAO KAHN Mortal Kombat 11 Leak copy

As mentioned above, Mortal Kombat 11 was officially revealed in a surprise announcement at The Game Awards 2018. The game will be working in a brand new custom character variation system, with confirmation that the game will be playable at the January 17 community event. Though we have seen some screenshots previously focusing on Scorpion and Raiden, we haven't seen anything formally for Shao Kahn. In case you missed it, NeatherRealm's Director Ed Boon is (jokingly) hoping that they can score an E rating from the ESRB this year.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 23, 2019. New information should be coming soon at a “community reveal,” so we will keep you updated on that as it develops. If you want to pre-order the game to grab Shao Kahn, you can do that now on Amazon.
