Mortal Kombat Clears Nearly 3 Million Sold Units

Gore filled fighter Mortal Kombat has amassed sizable commercial success, to compliment its roaring critical success. Since its April 19th release date, the game has sold nearly three million copies worldwide, which is absolutely a milestone considering how unsure the future of the MK series was just a short while ago. Martin Tremblay of WBIE had this to say:

“We are very pleased with the success of Mortal Kombat so far,With the launch of Mortal Kombat, we have already paid for the acquisition of the Midway assets, and we are just beginning to leverage this acquisition with much more to come.”

In addition to those millions of sold copies, WBIE has undoubtedly made a pretty penny off of the MK DLC, which consists of four characters priced at $5 apiece. This success pretty much cements the comeback of Mortal Kombat and all I want to know now is when the next game will come out.
