Sales of NetherRealm and WBIE's Mortal Kombat are showing no signs of slowing as the game continues to fly off shelves worldwide. The insane gore fest has recently cleared three million sold copies. That's a lot of decapitations. The acclaimed fighter scraps the three dimensional game-play for more classic 2D game-play and pits timeless characters against each other in a variety of match types and  game modes.

NetherRealm got the formula just right this time around and MK is definitely back. I attribute the game's commendable sales to its flawless promotion and steady stream of DLC. I mean, they've got Freddy Krueger and he's actually decent. Who wouldn't want in on this? Mortal Kombat is available now for Xbox 360 and PS3.
